The Early Life of Tim Elsea

Tim Elsea was born on August 8, 1961 in Birmingham, AL, to Thomas Melvin Elsea and Mary Frances Elsea. As a child, he lived in Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Tim attended Palmetto High School in Williamston, SC, from 1976 until he graduated in 1979. That same year he earned a spot on the Dixie Skydivers, Clemson University’s skydiving team. He competed with the team in the Collegiate Skydiving National Championships in 1979. In 1983, Tim made the choice to protect his nation, enlisting in the United States Army for four years. He earned an honorable discharge at the end of his enlistment. After his military service ended, Tim Elsea returned to Clemson to finish his degree in civil engineering. In 1991, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree. In 1995, Tealey's Land Surveying hired him as a civil engineering technician. His job included conducting quality assurance/quality control for various pressure irrigation, sewer, storm drainage, and water system installations. He
